Zoo Lights Powered by LES

**UPDATE: 11.24.2020 The Lancaster County Health Department has released an updated DHM that outlines changes through December 18th. Lincoln Children's Zoo is working with the Health Department for clarification in regards to the Zoo Lights Powered by LES event. If your tickets are impacted by changes implemented today or in the future, your purchase will be automatically refunded. You will not need to take any further action. More information will be released as it becomes available. Please stay tuned to our website, social media, and emails from the Zoo. We thank you for your continued support.

In accordance with the current Lancaster County Health Department Directive Health Measure effective November 16, 2020, Lincoln Children's Zoo must cancel the Zoo Lights Powered by LES event from November 27- December 7, 2020. Please read below for more details.

Payments will be refunded via the method of purchase within two weeks. You do not need to take any action; your refund will automatically process. If you do not see a refund post to your account within two weeks, please email contact@lincolnzoo.org so that we may review your account. 

The health and safety of our community remains our utmost concern and we will continue to work in cooperation with the Health Department in the coming weeks. We have temporarily suspended ticket sales and will provide an update regarding the future of Zoo Lights Powered by LES as new information is provided from the Lancaster County Health Department.

Members may only reserve tickets at the membership rate for family listed on their Zoo membership. Any additional tickets reserved outside of the family members listed on your membership must be purchased using the non-member ticket option. Health & Safety Procedures

Attendance & Capacity

• Timed-ticket entry allowing a limited number of guests through the gates every 15 minutes
• Group sizes are limited to 8 individuals
• Guests are asked to remain in their vehicles until their ticket time

PPE/Health

• Masks required of all attendees ages 5 and older
• All staff and volunteers required to wear masks and gloves
• All Zoo staff and volunteers will have their temperatures taken before the event each night

Sanitization & Safety

• Train sanitized between each ride
• Hand sanitizer stations throughout the Zoo
• Visual markers throughout the Zoo reminding guests to follow social distancing recommendations
• Physical barriers throughout the Zoo, creating a safe one-way traffic flow
• No cash will be accepted at the event, credit and debit cards only
• Guests over the age of 60 and anyone with an underlying health condition or any person at a higher risk from COVID-19 is encouraged to consult their physician regarding the safety of attending this event.
• If a guest feels sick before their reservation, we ask that they not visit the Zoo.
• An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By visiting the Lincoln Children's Zoo you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19

Mask Specifications

All guests ages 5 and older are required to wear a cloth face mask at all times, while attending Zoo Lights Powered by LES.  Guests will not be admitted without a proper face covering. 

At this time, based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings. 

If you arrive at the event without a proper mask, you may purchase a disposable option. If you are unable to wear a cloth face covering, a medical grade face shield is an acceptable alternative.

If neither a mask nor face shield can be worn due to a medical issue, please email the Zoo at contact@lincolnzoo.org to learn about event alternatives.

Face covering guidelines (disposable or reusable) must:

  • Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
  • Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or loops and allow the wearer to remain hands-free

What should I expect at Zoo Lights Powered by LES?
• Zoo Lights Powered by LES is full of holiday fun for all ages! There are lights throughout the Zoo, a 40 foot tall dancing tree, hot cocoa and s'mores stations, walk through light tunnels, holiday train rides and more!

What does timed ticket entry mean?
• Zoo Lights Powered by LES is a timed ticket entry event. This means when you purchase a ticket, you will select the time you wish to enter the Zoo. While you must enter during your selected window, you are not limited to an amount of time in the Zoo, your experience can take as long as you would like.

What's included with the VIP ticket?
•VIP tickets commemorative cocoa cup with discounted refills, commemorative 3D glasses, and a train ride.

What's included with the General Admission ticket?
• General admission includes entry to the event and commemorative 3D glasses. Other items can be purchased as add-ons.

Are s'mores and hot cocoa included with my ticket?
• S'mores, hot cocoa, and other snack items are not included with your ticket and may be purchased for an additional cost.

Will Zoo Lights Powered by LES be open on Christmas?
•No, Zoo Lights Powered by LES will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Can I purchase add-ons to my general admission ticket?
•Yes, train tickets can be purchased as an add-on. Other things such as s'mores, hot cocoa and souvenirs can be purchased at Zoo Lights Powered by LES.

Who needs a ticket?
• Everyone two years and older will need a ticket to the event. Guests two and older who wish to ride the train will require a train ticket. Train tickets on membership accounts are not valid at special events.

Will there be North Pole Express this year?
• Zoo Lights Powered by LES replaced North Pole Express. This holiday experience allows us to serve a larger part of the community and expand the holiday fun.

Will Santa be at Zoo Lights Powered by LES?
• Unfortunately Santa is very busy this time of year at the North Pole. There will still be tons of holiday fun and memorable moments including holiday train rides, a 40 foot tall dancing tree, walk through light tunnel and more!
