Arrive at the zoo after closing time and meet your hosts from the Education department outside the front gates. First, you will experience an animal encounter with a native Nebraska species. After sunset, see how your nocturnal senses measure up in a series of outdoor games in the dark! Next, embark on a flashlight scavenger hunt to locate coveted animal trading cards in unique locations throughout the zoo. You’ll get to design an arts-and-crafts creation of your choice from an array of nocturnal animals before trekking through the zoo on a guided night hike as we learn about the adaptations of nocturnal animals and meet some nocturnal species in The Hive. Finally, enjoy delicious s’mores by a campfire and end your adventure with a train ride through the dark!
