Giant Day Gecko

Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis

These are native to the northern and northwestern region of Madagascar.  They may reach up to a foot in length with the females usually smaller.  Their life span is 6 – 15 years and their diet consists of small crickets, wingless fruit flies, flies, fresh fruit and/or baby food, vitamin and calcium supplements are a must.  They are diurnal and like a daytime temperature of 70-90 degrees with nighttime being 67-72 degrees.  They like basking under heat lamps.
