Acouchi

Myoprocta acouchy

Acouchis are rodents and are in the same family as agoutis.  Their home range is Colombia , Ecuador , Peru and Brazil with tropical forest and thick brush as their habitat.  Acouchis are herbivores and east grass, roots, tender stems, leaves and fruit.  They live alone or in small groups and raise one to four young after a gestation of approximately 99 days.
