The money is used to care for the Zoo’s animals. That includes admission, pony and train rides, souvenirs from the Zoonique Boutique and food from the Safari Café.
May I bring my own food into the Zoo?
No, outside food is not allowed. The Safari Café is open daily with a wide variety of reasonably priced menu items from snacks to complete meals.
What is the charge for parking?
Parking is free and is located near the Zoo’s Front Gate. We also have handicapped parking spaces for your convenience.
Are there wheelchairs for rent?
We have manual wheelchairs available at Zoonique Boutique, located at the Zoo's entrance. These wheelchairs are free of charge, on a first come, first served basis. Personal wheelchairs are also allowed in the Zoo.
When can we ride the train?
The train begins running everyday at 10 am and finishes when the last visitors leave the Zoo.
Does my admission include a free train ride?
The train ride is a wonder way to see the entire Zoo. The price of a ride is children (2-12) $2; adults (13 – 61) $2.75; and seniors (62 +) $2.50.
Is there anything else for the kids to ride or play on?
Yes, there are pony rides available for $3.75, for children under 100 lbs. The Zoo also has a Spider Web for climbing and a playground in Zooville Square.
Does the gift shop carry items such as cameras and sun screen?
Yes, the Zoonique Boutique carries everything you will need to make your experience through the Zoo a pleasant one. Plus, there are many souvenirs from which to choose to always remember your day at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, you may bring your own stroller. For your convenience, there are also strollers available to rent at Zoonique Boutique, located at the Zoo's entrance; one seat $4 and two seats $6.
How long should we plan to spend at the Zoo?
To enjoy all of the exhibits, animals and rides, you should plan on spending about 2 ½ hours at the Zoo. Depending on your schedule, you can make the experience shorter or make it last longer.
